When 145 HP is not enough

take a 1986 Turbo Z C/S, make it a TII, add a 555 transmission, plus a super 60 turbo: get 193 HP and 242 at the wheels. It is enough for some...but not for everyone. I asked the almost famous Cliff Ramsdell for help. Good thing he had a few ideas ready.

Turbo and Intake

• Spread out the intake and Turbo for assembly
• An '89 TII intake hogged out to fit a 52mm throttlebody
• 3" Turbo Unleashed Swing Valve and Super 60 from Gary at Relentless Perfomance
• Compare an '87 TII 2.25" swing Valve to a TU 3"
• Pull the Head, remove the radiator/intercooler
• The nose of a G body fits a double intercooler just great
• Got to have A/C - add an '89 Minivan condenser!
• Install that bad boy.
• Looking at the condenser from the drivers side

  Install the Intercooler Tubing

• Take a 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust pipe from FWD Performance
• Checking the fit of a 760 Volvo intercooling tube and hump hoses on the TB
• Looking at the intercooler to 2 mandrel elbows with red hump hoses
• The cut pipe with a better shot of the Volvo IC tube painted satin black
• Three pipes in place with room to spare
• Drivers side view showing the turbo to air filter hose reused from an '87 Shelby Z
• A bracket was fabricated to anchor the air filter tube to the old A/C condenser mounting point
• From the front you see the air filter and intercooler-got to paint this car soon
