Multiple CMT Analysis of the 2004 Sumatra Earthquake


Since the great 2004 Sumatra earthquake was very large, the original Harvard CMT analysis was not very accurate. Using multiple point sources in the CMT analysis resulted in substantially better fit to the data. Our final model has five point sources (Tsai et al. 2004).
