Research Interests Geochemistry and petrology of oceanic lavas, particularly mid-ocean ridge basalts (MORB) and ocean island basalts (OIB); tectonic and morphologic evolution of mid-ocean ridges; temporal and spatial evolution of MORB, specifically using U-series disequilibrium measurments of basalts; chemical heterogeneity and evolution of the upper mantle; physical & chemical volcanology, volcanic risk and hazard assessment, and the pedagogy of Earth Science & Volcanology.
