Who Are We?

Lecture Media Services (also known as the prep room) supports the audio visual & media needs for all events taking place in the Science Center. The media services prep room handles all audio-visual & media support for courses & special events taking place in the Science Center.  (If you need media assistance outside of the Science Center, please get in touch with either Media & Technology Services or the Media Production Center. both of whom are part of the Instructional Media Services Group) We work closely with the members of Lecture Demonstration Services as well as the Electronics Shop to support the faculty, students, & staff of Harvard University.

Where Are We Located?

Our offices are located in the basement of the Science Center, behind Lecture halls A through D. Follow the signs hanging in the main hallway. Click here for a map of the campus.

What Are Our Hours?

Operating hours are Monday through Friday from 9:00am-10:00pm.  (If you require audio-visual support outside of these hours, please let us know as soon as possible.)

Lose Something?

Any items left in lecture halls will be taken to the Media Services Prep Room.  Students looking for such items should visit the Media Services Prep Room during business hours, call us at (617)495-5357, or email us. If you have lost something elsewhere in the Science Center, please look in either the Director's Office or Cabot Library.

How Do I Schedule a Room & Request Media Services?

To schedule use of one of the Science Center, please contact Chris Thibert in the Scheduling Office.  Once you have scheduled your room, you can request support from Lecture Media Services for your class, review session, or special event by filling out & submitting this FORM.  Your request for audio visual support is not officially entered into our service roster until you have received a confirmation phone call or email from the Prep Room staff.  While we will always do our best to support your audio-visual needs, we cannot guarantee our ability to offer our services when requested at the last minute.  Please plan ahead & contact us as soon as you schedule your space.

Reading Period Media Needs

During reading period, we expect the schedule of each course & review will vary from its normal arrangements.  Please remember to send us a schedule for your course's meeting times & locations during reading period as well as a description of your anticipated media needs.  You can submit this information by filling out this FORM.

Providing Feedback: Support Service Evaluation Form

Like any other service provider, we are always trying to improve the quality of the services we provide to the faculty, students, and staff at the Science Center.  Please fill out this FORM at the end of each semester to let us know how we have done in supporting your class this semester.

The Electronics Shop

The Though their primary purpose is to serve the Science Center, the personnel of the Electronics Shop are also available to perform audio-visual repairs and installation for faculty, staff, & departments throughout the university. Please visit their Website for further details about their services.
