I am a postdoc working with Ken Nakayama in the Harvard Vision Sciences Laboratory and Prosopagnosia Research Center, funded by an NRSA from the US National Institutes of Health. I completed my Ph.D. in Pawan Sinha's Laboratory for Vision Research at MIT. Beginning this Fall, I will be an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at Gettysburg College. The goal of my research is to understand how perception is shaped by the structure of the world and the structure of our mind. I am also exploring the possibility that visual perception is influenced by our social environment. Currently my work is focused on the perception of faces, because they are perceptually concrete yet intimately related to mnemonic, affective, and social aspects of cognition. |
