Okay, there's not much here yet, except for these Firefox search plug-ins. Feel free to download and use them. Unfortunately, I didn't work out any fancy-schmancy installation package, so there's a little bit of a DIY aspect to this.

Cruciverb plug-in (searches the Cruciverb database for a word or pattern): .src file, and icon. Note: the plug-in won't work unless you are a registered Gold Member of Cruciverb.com, since only Gold Members are allowed to query the Cruciverb database.
Xword Info plug-in (searches JimH's Xword Info site for a word or pattern): .src file, and icon

Installation instructions:

Download both files (the .src file and the icon) for the plug-in that you want. To download them, right-click (in Windows) or control-click (on a Mac) and select the "Save Link As..." option. Save them to your Desktop.
Move both files to the Firefox search plugins folder. The exact way to do this depends on your operating system:
- In Windows: locate the folder where you installed Firefox (by default, it's within the Program Files folder on your hard drive, in a folder called Mozilla Firefox). Inside that, open the searchplugins subfolder. Drag the two files you downloaded from the Desktop into searchplugins.
- In MacOS X: open the Terminal application. (It should be inside the Utilities subfolder of your Applications folder.) When the terminal window opens, type in (or paste) these commands:

mv ~/Desktop/xwordinfo.src /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/searchplugins
```
  and
```
mv ~/Desktop/xwordinfo.jpg /Applications/Firefox.app/Contents/MacOS/searchplugins
```
  These examples are for the Xword Info plug-in. For the Cruciverb plug-in, replace the xwordinfo with cruciverb in each command.
- In Linux: figure out where the searchplugins directory lives inside your Firefox tree and stick the files there.
Restart Firefox in order for the changes to take effect.

Known issues:

In the Xword Info plug-in, the ? wildcard character does not work properly. Use _ instead to match a single character. The * wildcard character works fine, and both ? and * work fine in the Cruciverb plug-in.

I don't guarantee these plug-ins, but there's nothing malicious here and I can't see any reason why they would cause your computer to stop working. If they don't work properly, feel free to drop me a line and I'll see if there's something obvious that I've done wrong. They work fine on my computer (Mac OS 10.5, Firefox 2.0.0.16).
