Set Style Sheet

This page allows you to set the style sheet for screen media for the documents on my webpage. In order for it to work, your browser must have style sheets and Javascript and cookies enabled. If your browser supports alternate style sheets, you may also select them through your browser's menus.

Available Style Sheets

The following style sheets are available for use on my webpage. Your results will vary, especially if your browser does not support CSS2.

Christopher
The default style for this page. Basic layout, with white-on-black text. (Screenshot for Christopher) Select Christopher.
Layout Only
Basic layout only, with no font or color information specified. (Screenshot for Layout Only - depends heavily on your default settings) Select Layout Only.
User Friendly
High-contrast with large fonts, designed to be easy to read and navigate. (Screenshot for User Friendly) Select User Friendly.
Technia
A small-font black-on-white style with an unobtrusive navigation bar on the bottom of the screen. Should not be used for very narrow displays. (Screenshot for Technia) Select Technia.
Manuscript
Black-on-white monospace text with little color or decoration. I think it's kind of hard to read. (Screenshot for Manuscript) Select Manuscript.
Charcoal
A visually appealing color scheme, with white-on-gray text. Uses Comic Sans MS font. (Screenshot for Charcoal) Select Charcoal.
Tellurian
A very resource-intensive style sheet, with yellow-on-black text. To look good, this sheet requires support for fixed positioning and PNG alpha-transparency, and the window must not be too narrow or too short. (Screenshot for Tellurian) Select Tellurian.

Alternate Style Sheets

Okay, here's the deal. I have designed several alternate style sheets to be used with my webpage with screen browsers, that is, browsers that use a normal, color computer screen. I did this partly for accessibility reasons, but mostly because it's fun. I hope that they add a bit of visual variety to this site. I invite you to try them out and make comments on them if you wish. If your browser does not support style sheets, or if you're not using a screen browser, this page will be of little use to you.

If you're using a browser that supports style sheet selection, such as Mozilla, Netscape 7, or Opera 7, then you may set the style sheet with your browser's menus. For instance, in Netscape, select Use Style under the View menu. However, if your browser supports cookies and JavaScript, and you have these features enabled, then you may also set the style with the form on this page.

If you're using a browser that does support alternate style sheets but does not support style sheet selection (such as Internet Explorer 5), then the form on this page will allow you to set the style sheet, as long as you have cookies and JavaScript enabled.

If you're using a browser that does not support alternate style sheets, such as Netscape Navigator, then this page will do you no good.
