Call for Papers

The 35th Annual Conference on African Linguistics will be held on April 02 - 04, 2004 at Harvard University, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA.

Theme of the conference: "African Languages and Linguistics in Broad Perspective"

Invitation: Papers that document or study the influence of African languages in the diaspora (such as those dealing with Gullah, Haitian, Papiamentu Creoles etc) are particularly welcome.

The organizers of the ACAL 35 would like to invite papers that address the conference theme, or any other topic relating to African languages and linguistics.

Topics include, but are not limited to, the following:

* Computational linguistics
* Language acquisition
* Language learning
* Language planning
* Language use
* Morphology
* Phonetics
* Phonology
* Pragmatics
* Semantics
* Sociolinguistics
* Syntax
* OTHERS

ACAL Abstracts: Abstracts must be submitted by email (word attachments only) to the following address: acal35@yahoo.com

The abstract must be written in English. It should be 250 word maximum, in a 12-point font. Submission by fax is not acceptable.

If you do not have regular access to e-mail, you may submit one copy of your abstract on a 3.5 inch floppy disk (Microsoft Word documents only).
