Pictures from the Na Pali Coast, Kauai

That's right: freedom.  That's what backpacking the Na Pali Coast is all about.  Miles and miles of cliffs, the blue Pacific and cascading waterfalls.

These are some phots, taken on two different trips to the Na Pali Coast of Kauai. One was a big father/son 4 day backpacking bonanza, the second was an intense, one day 22 mile run in and out with Senelly, Marco and Jon right before I left for college. If your ever in Hawaii, go here and be amazed at God's creative genius.

Looking down on Kalalau Valley from the heights of Kokee State Park.

Here was one of my three sleeping spots at Hanikapiai Beach, 2 miles into the Kalalau Trail. Can't beat the view....

Just before leaving for college, Jon Crosson, myself, and Marco and Senelly ran in and out, 22 miles in a total of about 8 hours. Here, I sit dazed, confused, dehydrated, and happy. Might just be the best plate lunch I've ever had, as well as the best one day trip ever.

Jon and I make the cliff assault on our return from Kalalau Beach. I submitted this photo to Runner's World for the Rave Run page, but they sent it back with some wimpy excuse that they can't use a vertical picture. I think that they were just mad that they would never be man enough to do a run like this....( :

A small, but close up shot.

Six miles in, and still going strong at 10AM from the Kool-Aid power fuel!!!!!!!

Marco, Jon, and Senelly at the beginning of the trail. Can't wait to go back.

An aerial shot of a stretch of coast like no other.
