I've been an avid user of a Palm Pilot since the summer of 1999 when I was fortunate enough to be given access to a Palm V for several months. Although it had to be returned, I was already hooked, and immediately purchased a Palm Vx, which I've used ever since. I've actually used Palmtop computers for quite a long time, dating back to the HP 95LX, which I used since the early 1990s. In fact, I still use that machine from time to time, to run Derive, a computer algebra system, and use language translation software and dictionaries. But the Palm Pilot is different; it's so small that it can stay attached to my belt all the time, and it HotSyncs incredibly easily with my desktop computer. With the advent of portable keyboards for the Palm Pilot, I can produce text more quickly away from my desk than even with the HP 95LX or Tandy Model 102. The Palm Pilot is simply amazing.
