Date: April 25, 2006Professor Langmuir has been elected to the National Academy of Sciences!
The National Academy of Sciences (NAS) is an honorific society of distinguished scholars engaged in scientific and engineering research, dedicated to the furtherance of science and technology and to their use for the general welfare.
The Solid Earth Geochemistry Lab at Harvard's Department of Earth & Planetary Sciences is run by the folks in the Langmuir Group. The Langmuir Group is a dedicated bunch from all over the globe who are conducting leading edge geochemistry research in a variety of areas, particularly the solid earth geochemical cycle, petrology, volcanology, ocean ridges, convergent margins, ocean islands, composition and evolution of the earth's mantle.
