My interest in air pollution stems from my desire to explore the relationship between science and society and to
use scientific knowledge to formulate accurate and informed public policy. Before beginning graduate school, I
explored my policy interests by working in the Government Affairs Program of the American Geological Institute
(AGI). While there, I developed an interest in several current legislative issues (links point to the relevant AGI
information page):

I feel strongly that scientists have a responsibility to communicate scientific information and priorities to elected
representatives. For information on writing and visiting Members of Congress, see AGI's "Communicating with
Congress".
