I'm a student in the Systems Biology PhD and the Leder Human Biology Programs in the lab of Vamsi Mootha at Harvard University.

Current Research

After more rotations than I would like to admit, I've settled in Vamsi Mootha's lab where I use next generation sequencing methods in order to discover the cause of rare mitocondrial genetic diseases. You can usually find me either in 5CC at the Broad or in the Simches Research Center at MGH.

Other Interests

1. Trying to change the way homes are constructed by launching Difra Construction with my roomate Lynwood Walker. Look out for us in the Boston buisness plan competitions.
2. Reading blogs and posting relevant links.
3. Taking photographs, though it's difficult when you break your DSLR's LCD screen.
4. Tweeting from time to time.
5. Loving my red Bianchi Boardwalk, though less so in Boston winters.
6. Summer 2008 I worked as a tutor at the Research Science Institute. Hopefully I'll return in the following summers.
7. In undergrad, I spent a lot of time working with/running Communitech (2004-2008), an organization trying to bridge the digital divide one computer at a time in the Mid-Atlantic USA and abroad. Science/technology stands to play a huge (though not sufficient) role in international development.
8. I used to (2004-2008) run and write for the Penn Triangle, Penn's pop-science magazine.
