Birds of the Galapagos

All photographs were taken in the Galapagos from December 19-26, 1998.

The identification of the Darwin finches is notoriously difficult. The identifications given here are based on the bird's appearance, behavior, and habitat, and the known distribution of finches among the islands. Comments to feldman@physics.harvard.edu are welcome.

More information on the Darwin finches can be found on the TerraQuest web pages. (Warning: The "Yellow Warbler" identified there is actually a Large-billed Flycatcher.)
