Thank You!

The 10th Reunion of the Smith College Class of 1988 has come and gone, and was a great success. Over 210 classmates attended, along with an additional 80 or so friends and family. We were fortunate to have good, if hot, weather for the majority of the weekend.

Highlights included a visit from President Ruth Simmons at our Friday night dinner, a boisterous Alumnae Meeting at which the Class of 1998 was welcomed into the alumnae ranks, dinner at Alumnae House on Saturday evening with a performance by the Smithereens, and the lovely Campus Illumination on Saturday evening. Although the weekend ended on a rainy note, the final brunch (with sticky buns) was a pleasant way to wind down after all the earlier festivities.

In addition, thanks to the hard work of our Gift Committee, our class raised $74,000 in pledges - a new record for a 10th Reunion class. Since we still hold the record for a 5th Reunion gift, we have the distinction of being the only class in Smith history to hold simultaneously two Reunion giving records!

We enjoyed putting the Reunion together, and would like to extend our thanks to our Committee members for their help. Also, we would like to thank the outgoing Class of 1988 Cabinet, especially President Liz Miller Fallon, for their work maintaining class spirit and enthusiasm over the five years between Reunions. It's a challenge to get people excited to come back once every five years, but our job was made much easier by the regular communication and behind-scenes-work done by the class cabinet in the non-Reunion years.

Thanks for everything - we had fun!
