Lodging

Reunion lodging is in College houses. Our class will stay together, in Duckett, Northrop and Gillett. On your registration form, you will be asked to indicate anyone near whom you would like to be lodged. Our housing coordinator, Jennifer Dobrota Klinger, will endeavor to satisfy these requests.

Keep in mind that graduating seniors will also be in the houses during our Reunion weekend. If you recall our own Commencement weekend, things can get a little crazy! Forewarned is forearmed.

For some reason, the College will provide every attendee with her or his own room. So, if you bring a guest for example, that person will get his or her own room, probably next door to yours! Yes, we think this is a little odd, and a little expensive for those who bring guests, but it is the way that the College is dealing with it for now. Our hands are tied on this - it is a College policy.

Lodging on campus will cost $117 per person. This cost covers three nights (the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday of Reunion weekend) and breakfast every day. For more information on lodging costs, please see Costs.

Do I have to stay on campus?

No, you don’t. You are welcome to stay off-campus. Should you choose to do so, we strongly recommend that you make hotel reservations immediately. We can’t stress strongly enough that we will be reuning on Commencement Weekend, so available hotel rooms will be few and far between. Your Reunion Chairs do have a list of local hotel, motel, and bed and breakfast options. Please contact us for more information.

Another option for off-campus housing is the Hampshire County Smith Club Bed and Breakfast Program. Local alumnae make rooms in their homes available to visiting alumnae and their families for a low fee. This is a great low-cost alternative to on-campus housing, and by participating you are doing a good turn for Smith. The Club donates proceeds from the bed and breakfast program to their Endowed Scholarship Fund for local women who choose to attend Smith. For more information, please contact Lisa Berkman ‘77 at (413) 268-9268. Be sure to book early because there will be enormous demand on Reunion and Commencement weekend.

If I don’t stay on campus, do I have to register and pay the registration fee?

Yes, please! And please make sure to check in at Alumnae House when you arrive on campus. This is where you will pick up your packet of information including schedule, meal tickets, nametag, list of attendees and whatever other goodies it may include. The registration fee helps to cover the cost of putting on Reunion - it has nothing to do with lodging.
