I teach theater history and dramatic literature at Harvard.

My research focuses on the intersections of art and industry, particularly with respect to law and economics. Most of my work explores Anglo-American theater since 1800. I investigate theater using both traditional archival and digital humanities methods.

Copyright and the Value of Performance, 1770–1911, my first book, is available for pre-order from the publisher and other online booksellers.
