My research is devoted to (1) uncovering the biodiversity of fishes, particularly those that inhabit the deep sea
; and (2) understanding the morphological and molecular basis of adaptive evolution
in this extreme environment. This involves combining traditional taxonomic investigations with state-of-the-art methods in morphology, biomechanics, and phylogenetic inference to test evolutionary hypotheses. Please click on the icons below to learn more about specifics of my research.
