This table describes the contents of the file: "Change_types.xls" which can be accessed from the CHGIS working papers downloads page.

The EXCEL file contains the working version of change types for the CHGIS database design.

Change Types are used to describe the reason why a new record was created for an instance in the database. For example, when a place name changes, or when an administrative unit is abolished, or when a unit is merged into another unit, etc.
