Greater Tibetan Area Placenames Cross-Index

This table describes the contents of the file: "THDL_ADMareas_rev022401.xls" which can be accessed from the CHGIS working papers downloads page.

The order of the records in the file are based on a document provided by the Tibetan Himalayan Digital Library (THDL). CHGIS - Harvard has cross-indexed the file with information from Guobiao Code Lists GBT 2260-95 and GBT 2260-99, showing the changes in official administrative hierarchy between 1991, 1995, and 1999.

Chinese Characters are being added, as well as cross-indexing with the Placenames found in:
