Abstract: point features showing major Buddhist Temples in China

Purpose:

to digitize the general locations of temples cited in the "Da Qing Yitongzhi" as indexed in "Chugoku no jiin" by Yajima Genryo

Supplemental_Information:

NOTE: the temple locations are georeferenced to the nearest known point location mentioned in the [index_loca] field, and which existed in the CHGIS V 2.0 database. Therefore the temples are generally only georeferenced to the nearest county seat. The point locations are NOT the exact location of the temple, which needs to be determined with additional research. See the [index_loca] field for all the information currently known about the exact location of each temple from the original source. CHGIS Version 4: data have been reprojected to Gauss Kruger Xian 1980 Zone 19.
