Next door to Harvard University Press and across the street from the
University's astronomical observatory, Botanic
Gardens Children's Center was specifically designed for children.
There are loft spaces, lots of natural light, and an activity room.
While close to Harvard Square and Porter Square, our west Cambridge
location is quiet, safe, and residential. Teachers take the children
on neighborhood walks or buggy rides to the local firehouse, library
branch, bakery—even "Winnie the Pooh's House," a neighborhood landmark.
Although BGCC operates independently, Harvard University is a tremendous
resource, from the green lawns of Radcliffe Quad to the Museum of
Natural History and Comparative Zoology.

Our lobby is a favorite gathering place at pick-up
and drop-off times. Here families visit together, mothers nurse their
babies, parents read books to their children or help them do puzzles,
and put on hats and mittens before venturing outdoors.
