The first publication commonly recognized to have involved movable type was the Gutenberg Bible, also known as the Mazarin Bible for the Cardinal by that name. (I learned from the poet Barry Collins that the pages of the original Gutenberg used sheep skin, leading to his line "the lord is my shepherd".) From such first printings to the placing of information at websites I am reminded of the remarkable advances in information communication that have made possible the large scale and often free of charge dissemination of knowledge.
