Travels to the South 03-02
These are some pictures taken during my trip to Richmond VA
and Raleigh-Durham NC during March of 2002. I recently discovered
the film, which apparently was in my camera for
two years. Most of the footage is blurry,
due to the fact that most of the interesting things that I
saw were in dark environments. I like to sleep late.

Advance the slide when you hear the beep.
Richmond
Richmond was beautiful. Nice old buildings. The shops had
interesting displays.
Pink
-
This is a store called Pink. It has some fancy clothes. It's
next to a shopping plaza-type place with a drugstore where I
bought the film.
Outside Richie's Pacific Grill
-
This is the club where the first show was. It was pouring
rain outside, but people came anyways. I had my first of many
drinks of the trip at this place.
Inside Richie's
-
This is inside Richie's, where some band was playing. We ate
steaks. You cna't see it here but there's a blue neon
saxaphone in the upper right corner.
Durham
Durham—of Raleigh-Durham—was a little depressed, not
unlike Springfield MA.
Are you ready Durham?
-
Wow, the beer down here sure is cheap. Nice selection. 24 Miller
High Lifes in cans, please. That should do it. I'm actually not sure
if this is in Durham or Greensboro or Cleveland. Somebody help me out
here.
I said are you ready Durham?
-
Zev decides we better get some more beer. Good idea.
Upstairs at Ringside
-
Taken from the balcony upstairs at Ringside, an old boxing venue
that spans three floors. Pool tables downstairs. Glad we didn't
have much equipment!
-
Headlining was a two peice hip-hop act. Toward the end the singer
shouted out to us.
Give it up for Milkweed. Yeah. They're pretty dope.
Never forget stuff like that.
Get your rest
-
Traveling around the country is tough, and it's important to sit
down and rest whenever possible.
