I was born in San Francisco and love my fog-drenched hometown. I went to university in San Jose, CA (SJSU) and double majored in Meteorology and Environmental Studies. During my final three summers of undergrad, I participated in the SOARS program through UCAR/NCAR in Boulder, CO. I graduated in 2001 and moved to Boston to join the Jacob group that Fall. I graduated in April 2007 and am now working as a postdoc in the Logan group.
During my time at Harvard I was the Dudley House outings fellow for two years leading adventure-starved graduate students on hikes, ski trips, etc. New England has some amazing outdoors to offer!
I spend a lot of time in New York where my brother lives with his wife and two daughters (see pictures). When out and about I love to check out restaurants, hang out with friends, and someday hope to get back into my friend Deb's book club. I've also recently gotten into video games...ok, not really, one or two video games developed by my boyfriend, Rob, and the team at HARMONIX, their new game Rockband is so fun! My favorite are the drums.
I spend much of my free time participating in activities withthe SGI-USA,
a Buddhist organization based on the teachings of the Nichiren school of Mahayana Buddhism.
Its awesome :D The organization is committed to the world peace through the spread of Buddhist humanism. We have just started a club on campus!
