Courses and Teaching Experience

"If you want to build a ship, don't drum up people together to collect wood and don't assign them tasks and work, but rather teach them to long for the endless immensity of the sea."
 -Antoine de Saint-Exupery

In addition to these courses, I have served as a teaching assistant in courses on postwar European history (HIST 1484), the development of the modern state in Europe (HSA72/73), the Holocaust in history and memory (HIST 1469), and the Goverment Department's survey course in comparative politics (GOV 20).  I have been honored five times with the Derek Bok Center's certificate for excellence in teaching and have served as a lecturer for the bok Center's orientation for new graduate student instructors.  I have also served as a mentor for graduate student teachers at the Bok Center and helped to organize the Government Department's first professional development series on teaching in 2003-2004.
