I’m currently the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Studies and Lecturer on History in the History Department at Harvard University, where I teach the department’s Senior Thesis Seminar, graduate Teaching Colloquium, and courses on early modern European history.
I received my PhD in History from Harvard. My research focuses on the impact of Spaniards’ ideas about the biblical Near East on the shaping of modern Spanish national identity. I spent the 2005-2006 Academic year abroad in Madrid, Spain as a Fulbright Scholar, during which time I conducted my research primarily in the Archivo Histórico Nacional and Biblioteca Nacional.
I also hold an AM in History from Harvard, a Master of Studies in Modern History from the University of Oxford (where I was the inaugural Michael von Clemm Scholar at Corpus Christi College), and an AB in History, summa cum laude, from Harvard College.
